Anointed

There was a day, years, and years ago, I was in a terrible place, the worst place I have ever been in. It was a glimpse of Hell…

I was torn down, shattered in spirit, and destroyed.

I stood there, praying, with the tears flowing down my face, like a cascade of water on a river.

While I was in that moment, a unknown Christian women spotted me out of a large crowd, and said, “that young lady, is being anointed, and it is so powerful, the spirit of the Lord is upon her.”

I think back to that very moment today, while I am in a peaceful, beautiful place.

I know that even when I was in “Hell”, God was with me, and he was moving, and preparing a better place for me to go to.

What does the Bible say about Anointing?

Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed,”

Mark 6:13 “And they cast out many demons and anointed with oil many who were sick and healed them.”

1 John 2:20 “But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge.”

Psalm 23:1-6 “A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows…”
